Kalki

bronze
Southern India, 17th-18th cent.
high: 9 cm.

Not to be confused with the horse-headed deity Hayagriva! Kalki is the last (10th) Avatar of Vishnu, and he will appear, at the end of this era, in the form of a white horse.
Here he is seated in human form, only with a horsehead. Very well modelled bronze, and quite rare!
