two deer and wishing jewels

firegilded copper repousse, some paint, eyes inlaid with turquoises.
Mongolia, early 20th cent.
high: jewels 26 cm; deer 21 cm.

Late, but rare and very charming set. In this case no chakra in the middle, but a bundle of wishing-jewels (Cintimani; Tib.: Norbu Me’bar).

AnĀ  almost identical set (though with the chakra, instead of the cintimani, but of the same period) was sold at Sotheby’s in New York, at March 29, 2006 (nr. 212).
