table with kirtimukha

carved and painted wood
Tibet, 15th-16th cent.
size: 71 x 33 cm; 43 cm. high

A very similar table, also with the two prominent makara-faces left and right, in:
David Kaminsky (ed.), Wooden Wonders, Tibetan Furniture in Secular and Religious Life, p. 186-187, nr. 10 (C-14 tested 15th-16th cent.)

The backside is painted (quite unusual!) with jewels and scrolls.
